ALVEY CALVIN PITSNOGLE, 92, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away at Golden Living Center on Friday, January 16, 2015. Born March 8, 1922 in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Henry Edward and Bertha Susan Tressler Pitsnogle. Alvey worked with H & R Block as a mixer, and as an electrician for Shiffler Electrical Associates, Inc. and Ellsworth Electric, Inc. He was a member of Williamsport Red Men Tribe 84, and was an avid NASCAR and Bill Elliott fan. Alvey is survived by his wife of 65 years, Doris Louis Mullenix Pitsnogle, whom he married October 22, 1949; one daughter, Dixie Clifford; four sons, Alvey (Bud) Pitsnogle Jr. and wife, Cindy, Rodney E. Pitsnogle and wife, Shelly, Dwayne E. Pitsnogle and wife, Debbie, and Darin L. Pitsnogle and wife, Christina; twelve grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Joan Pitsnogle. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Reese, Mildred Nelson, and Nora Hetzer; four brothers, George Pitsnogle, Roy Pitsnogle, Bill Pitsnogle, and Donald Pitsnogle; and one son-in-law, Herman S. Clifford. Services will be 11am, Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. The Rev. Robert V. Robinson will officiate. Burial will be at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Monday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
