Alton Lionel Townes, 64, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away on Friday, October 16, 2026, at Meritus Medical Center.

Born November 23, 1961, in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Sam Vincent and Dorothy Lee Townes.

Alton was employed by Home Depot.

He is survived by his wife, Keshia Kwarteng; his son, Eric Townes; his daughter, Berteria Dadaille; six grandchildren; two sisters, Willie Mae Townes Ross and Pearl Davis; two brothers, William Lynnwood Townes and Luther Alex Townes; and several nieces and nephews. He will be lovingly remembered by his family, who will cherish the memories they shared with him.

A viewing will be held at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD, on Thursday, October 29, 2026, from 6:00-8:00p.m.

A graveside service will be held at 11am on Friday, October 30, 2026, at Arbutus Memorial Park, 1101 Sulphur Spring Road, Baltimore, MD 21227.
