ALLEN CHARLES HARVEY, 38, of 1213 Hillbrook Drive, Hagerstown, Maryland, went to be with his Lord and Savior at 11:17, May 1, 2007 at the Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown, after a long courageous struggle with cystic fibrosis. He was born on Wednesday, July 10, 1968 in Bethesda, Maryland, the beloved son of Charles William and Neva Elnora Layton Harvey, and the grandson of the late Chester William and Goldie Elnora McKee Layton and the late Faye Green Harvey Hortch and Leo Hortch of Hughesville, Maryland. He graduated in 1987 from Gaithersburg High School in Gaithersburg, Maryland. In 1997, he graduated from Ramsey Technical School in Martinsburg, West Virginia, receiving his diploma in Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration. He was employed at the Architect of the Capital (Senate Office Buildings) Washington, D. C. as a heating and air conditioning technician, retiring in December 2004. Allen attended the Bethel Assembly of God in Hagerstown, Maryland. He is survived by his parents that he resided with; also survived by one brother, Lawrence Wayne, and wife Sheila (Bowman) Harvey, of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Sue Harvey on April 26, 1964. He was a loving and caring son, brother and friend who will be greatly missed. Services will be held at 2:00 p. m. Saturday, May 5, 2007 at the Jerusalem Christian Church in Warfordsburg, Pennsylvania. Rev. Delmas Bard will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 7 to 9 p. m., May 4, 2007 at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown., and one hour prior to the service at the church.
