Alice Seymour Abbott, 90, of Williamsport, MD, passed away July 26, 2016, at Homewood Nursing Home. Born March 18, 1926, in Baltimore County, MD, she was the daughter of Rev. Charles Edwin Seymour and Ruth Elizabeth (Groshans) Seymour. Alice was preceded in death by her husband, James Abbott whom she married in June, 1949. She was a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church and the Wesleyan Sunday School Class. Alice served for many years on the Altar Committee and was a member of the United Methodist Women. She was a fifty year member of the Women's Club and served many years on the Board of Directors. Alice was the chairperson for the Travel Group and planned many interesting trips for the members to enjoy. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the old Washington County Hospital serving in the Hospital's snack bar for many years. Alice loved to travel to many European countries and throughout the United States. Alice is survived by a nephew, Dr. Rev. Stephen Smalley. In addition to her husband, Alice was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Ruth Smalley. Services will be held at Homewood at a later date.
