Alexis Kay Walter, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2024, in Columbia, MD. Born on March 1, 1945, in Washington, DC, Alexis lived a full and vibrant life marked by love, care, and a zest for the simple joys.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 47 years, Stephen "Steve" Walter, her loving children, Brett Bledsoe, Sr. and his wife Amy, and daughter Michelle Sutton. Alexis's legacy continues through her adored grandchildren, Krystal and Bryan Hauenstein, Brett Bledsoe, Jr. and his wife Ashley, and Gracie Bledsoe, as well as her great-grandchildren, Jodie, Colton, Kadence, Jeremiah, and Hunter. She was predeceased by her parents, George Hanratty, Sr. and Doris (Wasler) Hanratty, and her brother George Hanratty, Jr.
Alexis embraced her role as a housewife with grace and dedication, creating a warm and welcoming home for all who entered. Her love for the outdoors and camping was only matched by her enthusiasm for shopping, always on the lookout for the next great deal.
Alexis's radiant spirit and enduring love will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her memory will be treasured and kept alive in the hearts of her family and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 1pm on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at Rose Hill Cemetery, 600 S. Potomac Street, Hagerstown, MD. Pastor Bill Divelbiss will officiate.
