Obituary

THEODORE "WAYNE" MYERS, 71, of Hagerstown, Maryland, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, November 7, 2011. He died while at Meritus Medical Center after battling long term seizure and stroke related issues. Wayne was born in Hagerstown, Maryland, September 11, 1940, and he was the son of the late Theodore "Ted" Martin Myers, and Helen Irene Marshall Myers. Wayne was a stockholder in The Hagerstown Block Company, and a retired employee with over thirty years dedicated to working in the "family business". He was a member of the Hagerstown Bible Church, and served there many years helping with ushering, attendance and keeping everyone smiling. He is survived by one sister, Gloria F. Sneckenberger, and husband, Donald; one brother Vernon M. Myers, and wife, Mary; two brothers-in-law, Jacob "Jack" B. Swartz, and George "Frit" Hill. He is also warmheartedly remembered by many nieces and nephews that he loved spending time with. He was preceded in death by one brother, James Myers; and five sisters, Joyce Hill, Anna Irene Swartz, Doris J. Durbin, Delores Sowers, and Beatrice L. Lowry. Also, preceding him in death were three brothers-in-law, Harold Durbin, Robert "Bob" Sowers, and William "Bill" E. Lowry, and one sister-in-law, Pat Myers. Now Wayne Myers has joined them in Heaven! He graduated from "Old North Hagerstown High School" in 1958 and was very proud of his school. He reminded everyone of where he graduated from, "and don't you forget it" he would proudly say. The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 1:00 p. m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown. The family will receive friends at Minnich Funeral Home two hours before the service. The Reverends Dale R. Carver, Gerald D. Carbaugh, and Curtis Lowry will take part in the service. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery near his mother and father, and overlooking the family business and his home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hagerstown Bible Church, 203 Summit Avenue, Hagerstown, Maryland 21740, or online at: http://hagerstownbible.org/Onlinedonation.html.
