Roger Lee Wright of 931 Chestnut Street, Hagerstown, MD, died on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at Shock Trauma in Baltimore, as a result of injuries sustained in a one vehicle accident near Hagerstown.
Roger was born September 12, 1961, in Tazewell, VA. He worked as a processor for Good Humor-Breyer's Ice Cream in Hagerstown for 20 years. He retired in 2010 for health reasons.
Roger was an avid fan of the Hagerstown Suns and Harrisburg Senators baseball teams, attending numerous games every year. He was well known to the players and coaches for being a vocal supporter of the home teams and constant heckler of the visitors, taking his position at the home dugout, beer in hand, and letting everyone know he was there. He was also a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan.
He is preceded in death by his father, John G. Wright and his mother, Alice G. Sajovic, both of Tazewell, VA.
He is survived by his numerous step and half siblings, several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles.
Family will receive visitors from 5 to 8 pm on Thursday, December 29, 2016. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, December 30, 2016 at 10 am. Both at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E Wilson Blvd, Hagerstown, MD. Please dress casual, wear your favorite sports team if you wish. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
