Obituary

ROBERT LeROY (BOBBY) FORREST, 82, of 16810 Tammany Manor Road, Williamsport, Maryland, died on Thursday, November 13, 2008 at the Pallative Care Unit at the VA Center in Martinsburg, West Virginia. Born July 4, 1926 in Cavetown, Maryland, he was the son of the late Margie Swope Forrest and Phillip R. Forrest, Sr. Bob attended Smithsburg schools and Hagerstown Business College. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U. S. Navy. Bob was employed by Bester & Long, Homewood Retirement, retired from Danzer Metal Works, and delivered prescriptions for Russo's Pharmacy until his illness in 2008. He was a member of the Harmony United Methodist Church in Falling Waters, West Virginia. He was a life member of the Antietam Fire Company, and a member of the American Legion, Morris Frock Post 42, and AARP. Bob is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Peggy Eyler Forrest; three daughters, Jan A. Rudisill, Cheryl D. Stoddard, and husband Ray, and Robin J. Mitchell, and husband Jim, all of Hagerstown; one son, Terry L. Forrest, and wife Linda, of Falling Waters, West Virginia; three sisters, Olive Kline of Myersville, Maryland, Ida Mae Shoop of Hagerstown, and Patsy Forrest of Prescott, Arizona; two brothers, Phillip R. Forrest, Jr. and Franklin R. Forrest, Sr., both of Hagerstown; five grandchildren, Colby and Kate Forrest of Boonsboro, Maryland, Jodi and Tommy Pope of Columbia, Maryland, Wendi Beard, Megan Mitchell and Patrick Mitchell, all of Hagerstown; three great-grandchildren, JevonYarbrough of Hagerstown, Ella Forrest of Boonsboro, Maryland, and Lena Pope of Columbia, Maryland. He was preceded in death by one sister, Helen Kuhn; two brothers, Adam W. Forrest, and George Forrest; and a son-in-law, Shad Rudisill. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a. m. Monday at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard. Rev. Terri Cofiell will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion, Morris Frock Post 42 at the graveside. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 6 to 8 p. m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Harmony U. M. Church, Youth Group, Williamsport Pike, Falling Waters, West Virginia, or the American Cancer Society, 1037 Haven Road, Hagerstown, Maryland 21742.
