ROBERT H. (BOB) ROHRER, 92, of Robinwood Assisted Living, Hagerstown, Maryland, died on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at the Washington County Hospital. Born June 14, 1915 in Hagerstown, Maryland, he was the son of the late John W. and Annie E. Leckron Rohrer. He was a graduate of Hagerstown High School, class of 1933. He was a member of the school band, orchestra, and glee club. He was associated with his father in the retail coal and fuel oil business. He was appointed Deputy Treasurer for Washington County Maryland, January l, 1958. He retired from that position October 1977. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Hagerstown, Maryland, having joined at the age of nine. He served several terms as deacon, was a former member of the choir, and assistant to Asher S. Edelman, organist. He also played in the Sunday School orchestra. He was a former member, and treasurer of the Washington County Sunday School Bowling League. He is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Elizabeth I. Rohrer; two sons, William H. Rohrer of Hagerstown, and Mark B. Rohrer of Santa Monica, California; one sister, Frances I. Davies of Hagerstown; fifteen nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Grace A. deForest, Mary E. Shoemaker, and Ethel E. Unger; three brothers, William H. Rohrer, John E. Rohrer, and Harold L. Rohrer. Services will be held at 10:30 a. m. Friday at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard. At the request of the deceased, there will be no visitation or viewing. Rev. Fred M. Harris, Minister of First Christian Church, Hagerstown, Maryland will officiate.
