RICHARD MARCELLUS GARVIN, SR., 91, of Hagerstown, Maryland, died Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Meritus Medical Center. Born July 28, 1921 in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Harry C. and Virginia Armstrong Garvin. He was a veteran of W.W. II, serving in the U.S. Army. He was self-employed as a cabinet maker and owned Garvin Reproductions. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Garvin who died in 1983. He is survived by a daughter, Virginia Deibert of Hagerstown; a son, Richard M. Garvin, Jr. of Martinsburg, West Virginia; 4 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister and 2 brothers. Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. Rev. Louis L. Emerick will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be made to a charity of your choice.
