Marijane Hoffman Lighter, 85, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2017. Marijane was born on December 30, 1931 in Hagerstown, MD to the late Charles and Jennie Rowe and her birth mother, the late Irene Hoffman. She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Malcolm Lighter, on April 16,2017. She was Lloyd's loving and devoted wife for 64 years. She is survived by her children, Lloyd Andrew Lighter and wife, Karen, and Suzanne Irene Watson and husband, Kevin, both of Hagerstown. She was a beloved grandmother to Charles and James Mowen, and Rachel and Aaron Lighter. She was cherished great-grandmother to 6 great-grandchildren. Marijane had many hobbies such as ceramics, crocheting, candle making, growing violets, and other flowers. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Funkstown.A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 14, 2017 at St. Pauls Lutheran Church, 24 E. Baltimore Street in Funkstown with Rev. P. Lee Brumback presiding. She will be buried in a private service at Greenlawn Cemetery in Williamsport, Maryland.
