KIA YOUNG,77, of Keedysville, MD, passed away Friday December 15, 2017 at her daughters home. Born March 30, 1940 in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Gracious Young. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Leo Schweda. She previously owned race horses. Kia had a passion for horses. She was of the Catholic faith. She is survived by two daughters, Wendy Lynn Laskey-Rachor and Holly Ann Girard; two sons, James Edward Girard and Douglas Allen Schweda; six grandchildren, Allison Thacker, Robert Thacker, Dylan Schweda, Dayana Schweda, Michael Badagliacco, and Heather Badagliacco; two great grandchildren, Brantley Weller and Bryan Weller. Also Anna Badagliacco who was like a daughter to her. Services will be held 2:30 p.m. Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. Chaplain John Sumptor will officiate. Burial in Fairview Cemetery, Keedysville, MD. The family will receive friends on Wednesday at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m.
