Joan Burkhart, 83, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Monday, October 22, 2018 at Meritus Medical Center. Born September 5, 1935 in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Paul Scott and Kathleen Rose (Shatzer) Eichelberger. Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald R. Burkhart. She was a life long employee of various trucking companies, finished her career as an office manager with Overnite. She was a member of St. Anns Catholic Church. Joan is survived by her sister, Dean Stickell; niece, Tammy Mumma; other nieces and nephews; great nephew, Scott Mumma and wife, Sarah, and their children, Kolton, Emma and Addie. The funeral service will be held at 1pm on Friday, October 26, 2018 at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Deacon William Nairn will officiate. Burial will follow in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
