JoAnn Garula (Socks) Scholl, 78, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2018. She was born on February 17, 1940 to the late Michael Garula and Frances Keller Garula. JoAnn worked for Hagerstown Leather for over 20 years before she met her husband Robert B. Scholl, who was a Railroader. They were married and moved to Pennsylvania, where JoAnn worked for Electronic Data Systems in the cafeteria for over 20 years until her retirement. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at Western Enterprise Fire Company, the Ladies Auxiliary at the Funkstown American Legion Post 211, and a member of St. Marys Catholic Church in Hagerstown. Most of all JoAnn enjoyed time with her family, including picnics with her nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband, Robert B. Scholl, and a brother, John F. Garula. She is survived by her daughters, Teresa Stoneberger and Pam Randall, her brother, Michael C. Garula, and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are welcomed for a visitation on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 from 7-9pm at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Blvd. in Hagerstown. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at 1:30pm at the funeral home. Father Lawrence Adamczyk will officiate. Interment will be at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown.
