HAROLD WILLIAM (DEEDLE) JONES, 59, of 6 North Antietam Street, Funkstown, Maryland, died on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at the VA Medical Center in Martinsburg, West Virginia. Born March 26, 1951 in Hagerstown, Maryland, he was the son of Kenneth Jones of Funkstown, Maryland, and the late Betty Lee Wolfensberger Jones. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving in the Vietnam War from 1970 to 1971; he served in Americal Division 196th Light Infantry Brigade. He received medals of Good Conduct, National Defense, Purple Heart, Bronze Star and Vietnam Defense. He was a member of V. F. W. Post 1936 and AMVETS Post 10. He is survived by one daughter, Angela Jones of Hagerstown; two sons, Zachery Jones, and Brayden Jones, both of Hagerstown; two sisters, Susan Lewis, and Cinda Jones, both of Funkstown, Maryland; and four brothers, Gary Jones of Williamsport, Maryland, Richard Jones and Kenneth Jones, both of Funkstown, Maryland, and Phillip Jones of Hagerstown. Funeral services will be held at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown on Monday at 10:00 a. m. Rev. Louis L. Emerick will officiate. Burial will be in Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery in Flintstone, Maryland. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 6 to 8 p. m.
