H. ANDREW (ANDY) HAMILTON, 85, of Woodpoint Avenue, Hagerstown, Md., died unexpectedly Saturday, August 13, 2011 at his home. Born November 17, 1925 in Hagerstown, Md., he was the son of the late Harry J. and Nellie J. Eyler Hamilton and was a self-employed businessman his entire adult life. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II. Andy enjoyed playing piano at the Hagerstown City Market, the Elks Lodge and Lions Club. He was a member of the Hagerstown Lions Club, Morris Frock American Legion Post 42 and B.P.O. Elks Lodge 378. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Gertrude (Trudy) Shank Hamilton; a son, Barry A. Hamilton and wife Diane of Rockville, Maryland and their children, Erica Hilburger and husband, Nathan of Rockville, Maryland and Brett Hamilton of Los Angeles, California. Funeral service will be held Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Shawn M. Bushman will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
