Evelyn Annabelle O'Dell, 80, of Hagerstown, MD, died April 7th, 2017, at Williamsport Retirement Village. Born March 28th, 1937, in Richwood, W.Va, she was the daughter of the late Perry A. and Arretha (Swartz) O'Dell. Evelyn was a dedicated homemaker. She worked at Heritage Academy for 15 years, and Ravenwood Lutheran Village for nine years. She retired in 2000, in order to care for her grandchildren, and to volunteer in numerous ministries. Evelyn was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Gene Alden O'Dell. Evelyn is survived by two sons; David O'Dell and wife Linda, and Donald O'Dell and wife Marianne; four daughters, Colette Williams and husband Ernest, Joan Bennett and husband Philip, Marsha Flowers and husband David, and Michelle O'Dell; 10 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Carol McClung and Ruth Hall; and one brother Dudley O'Dell; many nieces, nephews and cousins, which she dearly loved. Evelyn was also preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and Douglas O'Dell. Evelyn was a member of Hagerstown Christian Church and a past member of the former Hagerstown Grace Brethren Church, where she was a member for 45 years. She loved serving God, spending time with her family, attending her grandchildren's' various activities, and summer vacations at the beach. A memorial Service, will be held Saturday, April 15th, 2017 at noon at Maugansville Bible Brethren, 17904 Binkley Ave, Maugansville, MD. Pastor Brad Nigh will officiate.
