AUSTIN GROVER DURBIN, 75, of Hagerstown, died Friday, October 23, 2009 at the Washington County Hospital. Born March 26, 1934 in Brownsville, MD he was the son of the late William Edgar and Sylvia Arbutus Haines Durbin. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He was retired from Frito-Lay and previously was employed with Fairchild Corp. He was a member of the Funkstown American Legion and Amvets Post #10. After retirement he enjoyed gardening and spoiling his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Frances Lorraine McGinley Durbin; two daughters, Patricia Marie Oliver of Hustontown, PA and Kathy Diane Chrisp of Ashburn, VA; three grandchildren, Andrew Ryan Oliver and Amber Marie Oliver both of Hustontown, and Zachary Tyler Chrisp of Ashburn; one sister, Maxine Durbin McDonald of Hagerstown; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Willard Durbin. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:00 pm at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd with Rev. Shawn M. Bushman officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Monday, 7:00-9:00 pm at the funeral home.
